Mobile Laser Scanning (MLS) is a spatial data acquisition system. The basic units of this system are laser scanner, GNSS receiver and inertial unit (IMU). Instead of measuring each detail individually on the ground in the traditional way, a 3D point cloud is obtained with a significantly higher level of detail.
MLS offers several advantages over traditional corridor measurement methods, including high speed data collection, extensive topographic measurements and minimization of errors and questionable data.
